FAQs

What kinds of things can therapy help me with?

Therapy can support you in navigating difficult emotions, reducing anxiety and depression, and processing the impact of painful experiences. It offers a space to be heard without judgment and to gain insight into patterns that may be holding you back. Through our work together, you'll develop tools to cope more effectively and move toward a greater sense of balance and clarity. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed or simply seeking change, therapy can help you find a path forward.

How does therapy help?

Therapy helps by creating a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It allows you to better understand yourself and the patterns that may be contributing to your distress. With guidance and attuned care, you’ll learn new ways to cope, communicate, and respond to challenges. Over time, therapy can lead to greater clarity, emotional relief, and a stronger sense of self. It's a process of healing and growth, tailored to your unique needs.

What can I expect from an initial session?

In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brings you in. You’ll have space to share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to go into anything before you’re ready. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see how it feels to work together. Most importantly, the session is about creating a foundation of trust and shared understanding as we begin our work together.

What can I talk about in sessions?

You can talk about whatever’s on your mind—stress at work, tough memories, anxious thoughts, weird dreams, or just how you’re really feeling. Nothing is off-limits, and you don’t need to have it all figured out to show up. Some days might be deep and reflective, others might be about everyday stuff that’s getting to you. It’s your time. Come as you are—we’ll take it from there together.

How long will I need to be in therapy?
How will I know when I'm done?

The length of therapy is different for everyone and depends on your goals, needs, and the pace that feels right for you. Some people find relief in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term work. We’ll check in regularly to see how things are going and make sure therapy continues to feel helpful. You’ll know you’re ready to step back when you feel more grounded, able to manage challenges, and confident in the tools you’ve gained. Ending therapy is a collaborative decision which we will navigate together.
